Bigger yard 30-b.....

With the raw sienna added...

Bigger yard 30.....

For the next set of rock, am using burnt sienna ink instead of red earth...  will still be using raw sienna for the lit areas, tho...

And the full board  view...

Bigger yard 29.....

Finishing the greens, then turned to the rock, layering first red earth over the shade areas, then raw sienna over the lit areas, adding a layering of flame orange flittered here and there over the lit areas...

Bigger yard 28.....

Layering the first group of trees with emerald green, stippling with a crow quill nib, then layered light green over the lit areas... the next group, first stippled the light green over all but the shade parts, then layered the emerald green over everything, going into the shade areas too [this section in progress, so to show the stages and how they look]...

And the section is now griasille done, and ready for the layering of colors...

Bigger yard 26.....

This time showing the whole board, so to give back the sense of depth of the vista...

Bigger yard 25.....

Bigger yard 24.....

After delays due to other factors not related to rendering, have continued on with the grisaille...

As can be seen, there is already deviation from the initial sketch...

Prelim sketch...

This is just an initial sketch, used to lay out possibles... the actual grisaille will be somewhat, tho not all that much, different from this...

Bigger yard 23.....

Still just the corner to finish off layering in the emerald green - then, on to the vista, 'my bigger back yard', beginning with the left canyon wall, then the terraced gardens... in blue grisaille, of course...

Bigger yard 22.....

Getting the bloop to mesh into the rest of the grasses proved a wee harder to achieve, but think is accomplished now, and can get on with the rest of the grasses, so can get on with the rest of the rendering - that vast vista seen from my back yard...

Bigger yard 21.....

And am now on the way to blade shading the rest of the grasses...

Sunday, September 06, 2009

Bigger yard 20.....

And the light green has been laid.... now - on to the sap green shading of the blades... [and yes, there is a spilt mark, but no biggie - was getting the last of the ink from the bottle and had it on a slope, but jarred the table and it tilted over -GRRRRRR - but since is same as what is down, no problem correcting, and the white areas eeen elsewhere will be filled with emerald green, as was on the right side, and so will those same areas in the spilt section, thankfully]...

Bigger yard 19.....

And now, on to the rest of the grasses... again first layering in light green...

Bigger yard 18.....

And, with the exception of the narrow section on the left, the cyan is added, finishing off the stones, and 'clearing the path' to beginning the rest of the grasses...

Bigger yard 17.....

On the bottom is the finished part of the sepia'd stones, including the 'saved' one with the bloop... the top is the next layering - of the red earth, with two stones temporarily left as to show a 'before' and 'after' ... next - cyan...

Bigger yard 16.....

Except for the narrow part on the left, the stones are marked with the sepia, and now ready for the red earth and cyan layers, with a touch of lemon yellow and white... and I will have to get to the art supply store for more of the light green to use in getting the rest of the grasses down...

Those who look on the rendering WIP will notice there is a slightly whiter spot down near the bottom - all too truew, there was an excess drop from the pen - however, it is being repaired, and will be the spot for my signature [so all is well in the save]...
